It is being created for the residents of Tri-City and summer visitors from various parts of the world, who, having escaped from the hustle and bustle of big cities, will find a theatrical haven on the Summer Stage. Its purpose is to cherish the summer, as it is the only theatrical stage in Poland in which the audience sits in the open, on the sand, and accompanied by the sound of the sea, while watching performances, listening to concerts, admiring arts exhibitions, and participating in a number of other artistic events. The special character of the place is used to create important theatrical events, and the Summer Stage is an extension of the activities of the Theatre on Bema Street. The Summer Stage has for years rotated its formula, but it has always provided premieres, cabaret evenings, exhibitions, concerts, and other summer attractions. During the fifteen years of its existence, the Summer Stage has demonstrated that a theatre on the beach is an alternative and frequently-used way of spending leisure time.
