The Church of St. Nicholas in Lisewo Malborskie

This Gothic church was created in the 14th Century in place of a former chapel dating back to 1316. It is a single-aisle structure, subjected to multiple redevelopments, having a wooden ceiling and a quadrilateral, wooden tower from 1819, crowned with an upper floor and a pointed cupola. Part of the nave and the worship area are made of brick. The southern wall of the tower has an engraved model of the so-called “Chełmno bar” (pręt chełmiński – a former unit of measurement = 4.35 m) with the letter K on it, while the church neighbours an ossuary.

Inside the church you can see the preserved original decor: the high altar depicting the scene of the crowning of St. Nicholas with a tiara and the image of St. Mary Magdalene, as well as a pulpit supported by an angel, a baptismal font, pipe organs, and a wooden statue of Virgin Mary. The church tower houses a 1674 bell.
