Succulents stand out from other plants with their capacity to accumulate water and retain it inside for a long time. The Cactus Farm in Rumia has more than 2 million specimens of these plants, including about 6,000 different species and forms. The cacti grow in seven greenhouses with a total area of over 1,000 sq. m. The oldest specimens are almost 40 years old, and some of them hardly fit inside the low greenhouses. This collection was frequently awarded first prize at exhibitions, and one of the most interesting specimens is the enormous cactus called the “Mother-in-law’s Armchair”.
You can buy a young plant at the site or through their website. The owners also offer novelties and extremely rare cacti which are not listed in the official price list.
