It has served as a prison. During s between 1908 and approximately 1960, it played the role of a water towerm with a characteristic dome-shaped water tank. It has been restored to its former appearance. The tower hosts the exhibition of the collection of Werner Zebrowski (born in 1923) – who lived in Riesenburg until 1945 – gifts presented to the city (paintings, appliances, postcards, maps, plans, photographs, books, etc.) and a model of the former castle. The top floors of the building are currently the home of the Werner Zebrowski Exhibition Hall, which hosts paintings and graphics of pre-war Prabuty. This exceptional resource takes the tourists on a sentimental journey into the past.
