Situated near the Borowiacy settlement of Fojutowo, it has become a unique hydrotechnical monument. Inspired by ancient Roman aqueducts, it forms a the crossing of two watercourses, the Czerska Struga below, and the Great Brda Channel above. The main function of the structure is to take water from the Brda to the so- called Czerskie Meadows, located near the town of Czersk. The main building material used was stone and yellow brick. Three aqueducts were built as part of the works, allowing the canal to run through deep ravines. The entire huge investment had a strategic goal, which was to supply hay to the army’s horses during military operations. Today the Great Brda Channel makes for a globally- unique and fascinating tourist route.
