The purpose for establishing Kępa Redłowska was to preserve natural beech forests and the habitat of Swedish whitebeam. This reserve is one of the more beautiful parts of the Coastal area. From it, visitors can find marvellous views of Gdynia, encounter characteristic plant communities (such as that of common sea-buckthorn), and have the possibility of observing the processes of marine abrasion. This is the first reserve established in the former Gdańsk Voivodeship, and one of the oldest in Poland.
